The Ardennes, or Ardennais, comes from the Ardennes region of Belgium, Luxembourg and France and is one of the oldest draft horse breeds in Europe. Famous for its strength, stamina and docile temperament, it once pulled artillery for Napoleon's armies. Ardennes horses are hardy, easy keepers, and in Pakistan's hot summers they do best with shade, plenty of water and work in the cooler hours.
